Okay, so Dwight Diller is from West Virginia. But he stops by East
Lansing three or four times a year. You can catch him giving a workshop
at Elderly Instruments, performing at the Grand Ledge opera house, or conducting
workshops in Portland. He's had a big influence on the old time banjo crowd
in this area, teaching his brand of clawhammer to many. I've been to three
of his four-day workshops, and gained a lot each time.
Also, he's a pretty nice guy.
If you're interested in information about Dwight Diller, go to the source
- his web page. His link is below. If you're interested in possibly jamming
with some of his current and former students, we get together once a month
or so (along with a bunch of fiddlers with similar, West Virginia interests).
