The greatest story ever told? Pretty close. Fantastic performances at every turn, nicely organized, and great weather. This festival is free and will be back to East Lansing in 2000 and 2001.
Highlights: Natalie MacMaster and Eileen Ivers' fiddle workshop, and every performance each gave. Hot Rod Lincoln performed by Bill Kirchen (as Bill Kirchen, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Flatt & Scruggs, Roy Orbison, and on and on . . .), and Marcia Ball leading an unbelievable jam to close out the festival.
No politics - just the stuff that really counts: love, lust, loss, sorrow, and resurrection. See ya next year!
