Double Helix

Silent, observant, imperious - barges graze the mist like barracuda. Sea and sky exchange light. Sail boats idle beneath looming hulls, buoyed by shadow and reflection. The bird executes languid, hungry spirals. The fish forsakes his cavern for a wet, light firmament. At the confluence of sea and sand - I, descendant and ascendant, recall a place I have never been.
